7 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION FOR RETAILERS

Attention retailers: 2010 is almost here! If you run a business, this month is a great time to reflect on the challenges and accomplishments of the past year. As you look back on 2009 and all the lessons you've learned, don't forget to use your experience to plan ahead for 2010.

Here are some tips from us at 4SGM.com that will help you do your best business in the New Year.

  1. Take advantage of time-saving features on 4sgm.com:
Check out our amazing Package Deals and re-stock entire sections of your store in just a few clicks.
Use 4sgm.com's new Advanced Search box to find items by price, category or brand. Sign on to Live Support chat for instant answers to questions about items or orders. Create and share your Wish List with your partners, employees or co-workers via email.
  2. Stay honest. Be fair and open with customers regarding your products and business policies, and they will reward you with repeat business and invaluable customer referrals down the line.
  3. Plan and keep track of your inventory every week. This will give you a better idea of what's selling and what's not, eliminating wasteful spending and storage/transport costs.
  4. Make your store a beautiful place to visit. A store can never be too clean or well-lit!
  5. Promote your low prices to get the attention of new customers. Buy reduced price and closeout items from 4sgm.com, or use higher-end items as loss-leaders to get customers inside your store and in a spending mood on account of the great deal they're getting!
  6. Know your customers! Figure out who your customers are and what they are looking for. Learning about your customers often leads to opportunities for up-selling and stocking different types of items that you would not consider otherwise.
  7. Always Advertise! Whether it's a sign in a public place where potential customers shop or travel, a local newspaper ad, or an attractive sign outside your store, promoting your business and it’s unique offers is always beneficial to sales.
